Introduction to eSafety
This course is designed to give you an overview of Internet and electronic safety. Using these resources wisely will make you a better digital citizen.
Who is responsible for safety?
YOU are the person responsible for your safety. Schools, teachers and parents will try to keep you safe but they can't be everywhere all the time. Your own common sense is your best resource for staying safe.
Be smart, use common sense, think about eSafety and be responsible with techonolgy. In this case, freedom means taking responsibility for your own safety. If you are careless then there will be negative consequences from your teachers, the adminstration and perhaps even your parents. You could even get into legal trouble!
While the Internet can make your life easier, it can also expose you to cybersecurity threats like scams and identity theft. Read "Introduction to Cybersecurity" to find out some of the things you need to look out for and 5 things you can do to help protect yourself.

Goshen High School is required to have a Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The school board determines what that AUP will be. It is YOUR responsiblity to know this policy and follow the rules of the policy.
Most trouble can be averted by rembering a few common sense rules. Read "Common Sense Internet Rules" to see what these are. Rembering these things while online will go a long way in helping you have a positive and successful experience.
