How to identify competences?

According to Lauzackas (2006) there are three main criteria for identifying competences:

  1. Competence identifies the learner’s final behaviour, i.e. what he/she should be able to do after learning.
  2. Competence clearly indicates the conditions under which this behavior occurs (using particular tools, etc.).
  3. Competence identifies criteria for assessment of the learner’s behavior (whether it is sufficient or not).
